Giving to Our Community
Dr. Diane Kelly
was born in Pennsylvania
and began working as a pediatric chair side assistant in 1973. She went on
to receive her dental hygiene license in 1979. Years of dental experience
set the path for Dr. Kelly to pursue her goal of becoming a pediatric
dentist. She graduated from the Temple University School of Dentistry in
1997 and completed a pediatric residency in June, 1999.
Dr. Kelly has received
numerous awards for her work in behavior management and treating special
needs children. Dr. Kelly is an active member of the American Dental
Association, Georgia Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry, and Northern District Dental Society.
Dr. Kelly also volunteers
time to a national charitable program known as
Christina’s Smile, which
helps indigent children in various communities.
Dr. Kelly resides in Hall
County with her husband Steve, daughter Lauren, 7 dogs, and 11 exotic
parrots. She enjoys boating, reading, collecting antiques, and exploring
beaches.
Dr. Terry Holder
was born and raised in
the small town of McDonald, Pennsylvania. The product of a family of steel
workers and coal miners, hard work is no stranger to this doctor. In high
school, Dr. Holder’s basketball team made it to the WPIAL Class B State
Championship. His dedication to the sport earned him a full athletic
scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh.
After completing his
undergraduate studies, Dr Holder went on to receive his DMD degree from
the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine. Afterwards, he
continued on with is Post Graduate Degree in pediatric dentistry at Case
Western Reserve University as well as The Babies and Children’s Hospital
in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1988, Dr. Holder became
a diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. By 1991 he was
recognized as a Fellow in that same academy.
Dr. Holder is now on staff
at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Hamilton Mill Dentistry, Scottish
Rite Hospital, and Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.
Dr Holder resides in
Marietta with his wife Mickie. They have two girls, Katie and Terri Lynn,
who are both married, working, and furthering their educations.
Hunting is by far Dr.
Holder’s favorite hobby. He has traveled through the United States,
Canada, New Zealand, and Africa. His trophy room speaks for itself!
Dr. David Skoglund
received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from Willamette
University in Salem, Oregon. His dental degree and specialty degree in
pediatrics were both completed at the Oregon Health Sciences University by
1988. In addition to receiving his specialty degree, he also completed a
fellowship in working with handicapped children.
Dr. Skoglund was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but spent most of his life
growing up in Oregon. He is married with five children and presently
resides in Gwinnett County. Some activities that Dr. Skoglund enjoys include
skiing, boating, camping and hiking.

Dr. Nicola
Thomas was born in Manchester, England. She eventually made her way to the
states and made Huntsville, Alabama her home. While in Huntsville, Dr.
Thomas earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Oakwood
University. In 2001, she completed a doctoral degree in dental surgery at
Loma Linda University located in Southern
California. Shortly after
graduating, Dr. Thomas moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she initially
practiced general dentistry. She has enjoyed practicing pediatric
dentistry since 2004.
Dr. Thomas is an active
member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association,
and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. When time permits, Dr.
Thomas enjoys traveling and deep sea fishing.
Dr.
Nagwa M. Elamin
was born in Khartoum, Sudan in Africa. She finished her
Bachelor Dental Degree at the University of Khartoum in Sudan. Dr. Elamin
moved to the United States in 1997. She joined the University of Southern
California in Los Angeles, where she received her D.D.S. in 2004.
Dr. Elamin practiced
general dentistry and then joined our practice in December of 2007.
She currently lives in
Suwanee, Georgia with her husband and their three children.
Her hobbies include
reading and spending time with her family.
Dr. Venita Freeman
attended
Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry and received her Doctor of
Dental Surgery Degree. She completed her pediatric dentistry residency at
Harvard University in Washington, D.C.
After completing her
training, she worked at a private practice in Philadelphia as well as a
community health center in New Jersey. Her experience there allowed her to
work closely with the Head Start Program. She has worked as an associate
dentist in private practices in Texas and Arizona.
Dr. Freeman moved to
Atlanta to be closer to her family.
Currently, Dr. Freeman is
an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She
continues her training through taking education courses in order to stay
current with pediatric dental care.
Dr. Shafaq Chaudhary
was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She received her Bachelors
Degree in Science from the University of Toledo. Afterwards, she
moved to Boston and received her dental degree from Boston
University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Chaudhary
moved back to Toledo and completed a General Practice Residency
and a two year training program in Pediatric Dentistry at the
University of Toledo Medical Center. During her residency, she
also obtained a Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences. Dr.
Chaudhary enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling,
and learning new languages.

Dr. Chris Halper
started his education career here in Georgia in 1994 at Georgia
Southern University, before graduation with a Bachelors degree in
Sports Medicine from Pennsylvania State University in 1999. He
then went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple
University in 2007. Finally Dr. Chris attended St. Christopher's
Hospital for Children where he completed his Pediatric Dental
Residency in 2009.
Dr. Chris now lives
here in Georgia with his wife and brand new baby. He is a big
sports fanatic and loves being outdoors.

Giving to Our Community
We visit many day-care centers, schools and
even have office tours in our office upon request. These are informative,
fun, interactive visits, and we even know the "tooth fairy" who
accompanies us depending on the age groups.
